"COACHES CORNER"
Notes from Coach Lia
Updated 2/14/12

Attendance at the State Meet on Saturday March 3rd and 4th is expected as a part of PTSC, but because the line-up is so intensive, we want to confirm that everyone will be there. Please send me an e-mail (llangeveld@cumberlandcountyymca.org) this week as soon as possible that you'll be attending. I know sometimes they bounce back, so if you don't get a confirmation from me, please e-mail Gregg and he'll forward it to me.
-
You can also put in your request choices of 1st choice, 2nd choice and 3rd choice of events to swim - we cannot make any promises, but coaches will take it into consideration. We want to do the best we possibly can as a team which means putting swimmers where they will score best. This could mean 3 individual events, 2 relays and 1 individual or 2 individuals and 1 relay. Relays are worth quadruple points compared to individual events which means we need to have relays in every event that's offered - in smaller age groups, it's important that everyone attends the meet so we have relays to put in.
-
Parents - It's equally important that we have you sign up for our team's responsibilities at the meet. Each team gets a list of things they have to fill and the State meet wouldn't run without all of us doing our part. Plus, you get to be on deck and don't have to wait in line for a seat - bonus! Please help us out by volunteering. :)
-
Anne, Dee and I are really looking forward to this year's State meet - please let us know if you have any questions. We'll have more info going out soon about a psych night on March 1st. Info regarding the meet is attached to this e-mail. Please check the website for all info that's included in this e-mail.
-
Saturday practices will be held with the same schedule as before on Feb 11th, Feb 18th and Feb 25th.
-
Mark your calendars - The Pine Tree banquet will be held on Saturday April 28th at 1pm.
-
While at States on March 3rd, check out Maine Engineers Week
- I will confirm all e-mails of swimmers unable to attend meets – if you e-mail and I don’t respond, please call and leave a voicemail and I will confirm that.

New England qualifiers & potential qualifiers - Please check out www.melroseymca.com for info on New Englands. They will likely need to break the meet into 2 separate meets which has not been done in recent memory. The dates are not confirmed as of yet by Harvard but will likely be March 23-25 for 13 and up and March 31-April 1 for 12 and under.
